Elvis Costello’s “The Juliette Letters”

Monday, May 6 // Door at 7 PM // Show at 7:30 PM // $10 // $15-$20 Artist Supporter Inspired by letters from modern-day people asking for love advice from Juliet Capulet (Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet”). They hang these letters in the alley entrance of her house in Verona, Italy … The problem? Juliet Capulet is a fictional character who never owned a house and certainly cannot respond to letters! Elvis Costello found this phenomenon fascinating. He transformed this idea into an album with lyrics from letters to his own fictional characters: “The Juliet Letters”. These songs are a whimsical blend of pop and classical music, featuring: Caitlin Cisler, VoiceDavid Cody, Voice Joanna Berg, Flute Christopher Kirkpatrick, Clarinet Jesse Dochnahl, Alto and Baritone Saxophones Johan Eriksson, Alto Saxophone and ArrangerAdam Collins, CelloAll tickets are general admission. Artist Supporter Tickets are a way for patrons to provide more financial support to performers.
