Revival Comedy Night for the Susan Wicklund Fund

That’s right: for five years, we’ve been offering free comedy workshops to marginalized genders and helping people across the state get on stage to tell jokes. We’re celebrating by showcasing women, nonbinary, and trans comedians in Montana who make the world a funnier place — and by raising money for our all-time favorite Montana organization, the Susan Wicklund Fund. Especially now, with our abortion rights in peril, it is vital to support Montana’s abortion fund, which has helped hundreds of people pay for their abortions and the related costs of travel and lodging, and we’re ready to fight. City Without Words: An Encore Screening of A Place (Sort Of)

Seven years in the making, Smetanka’s documentary skillfully weaves a century of home movies, vintage promotional films and minor Hollywood features into a spellbinding journey through time, place and memory. ZACC’s April 15 presentation is a special version of the film, with the same vintage imagery and 100% Missoula musical soundtrack, only minus the final narration. It’s a rare opportunity to experience the ultra-local version he really set out to make, Smetanka tells us: “This is the one I dreamed about making,” he says. “For the rest of the world, Missoula might take some explaining.
