FELLOWSHIP HALL, A New Play Written by Ean Miles Kessler
Monday & Tuesday, June 24 & 25 // Door at 7 PM // Show at 7:30 PM // Pick What You Pay $10-$30 FELLOWSHIP HALL is a new play written by Ean Miles Kessler. This is the first original play written specifically for No Joke Theater, an impactful, transformational theater program for participants in pre-release programs, individuals under court ordered supervision and members of the recovery community. The majority of actors in FELLOWSHIP HALL either come from Missoula’s R.O.A.D. court or are local members of the recovery community. Former teaching artists Penelope Baquero and Mark Plonsky also join the cast. It is directed by Leah Joki. Playwright Ean Miles Kessler, a teaching artist with No Joke Theater for the BROKEN TOYS production in the fall, approached Artistic Director Leah Joki with an idea to write about recovery using the format of “La Ronde,” a play by Arthur Schnitzler written in 1897. It was a controversial and groundbreaking play at the time. Ean was also inspired by the stories of recovery of the former participants and used them as a jumping off point in the creation of FELLOWSHIP HALL. It is an authentic and expertly crafted glimpse into the common interactions of those in recovery from drugs and/or alcohol. *FELLOWSHIP HALL contains adult language and adult themes. FELLOWSHIP HALL was made possible by a grant from the LoLA (Legacy of Living Art) foundation. No Joke Theater is fiscally sponsored by Arts Missoula. For further information, accessibility, and inquiries please visit https://www.zootownarts.org/meet-the-zacc/about/.
