Revival Comedy Night – Annual Sock Drive for the Poverello Center
Thursday, November 21 // Doors at 7 PM // Show at 7:30 PM // $10-$30 Choose Your Own Support Level for Admission It’s time for one of Revival Comedy’s biggest – and biggest-hearted – shows of the year! Each November we gather the best comics in town for a funny, fun celebration – all centered around collecting warm socks for the Poverello Center. In addition to hilarious standup sets, audience members should expect the unexpected, including special guests, games and improvisation. Proceeds from the evening go directly to the Pov, and audience members are encouraged to bring new, warm socks to donate to the Pov. Socks for men and women are welcome and the warmer, the better. Other donations – hats, gloves, hand warmers, toiletries, etc – are very welcome too! There will also be an opportunity to donate money so that Revival can buy socks for you, including a 50/50 raffle. Hosted by James Johnson! Learn more about the Pov’s ongoing needs at: https://thepoverellocenter.org/donate/. Learn more about the Poverello Center at https://thepoverellocenter.org/. He is 6 foot 6, 360 pounds, and has two kids (one of them is on purpose). He’s been married for 13 years, and has been clean and sober for 15 years. Sam likes to make jokes about what it’s like to be a sober parent. He also likes to make jokes about what jail is like in Yakima. His first album and special, Round Trip, was recorded and filmed under the tutelage of Grammy-winning producer Dan Schlissel, whose indie label, Stand Up! Records, Sam had recently signed a three-album deal with. Round Trip was released October 27, 2023 and immediately went to number one on the iTunes Comedy Charts. It even broke into the top 200 overall charts. Sam is a recurring guest and has been heard by an estimated 2.5 million listeners on the nationally syndicated “Bob & Tom Radio Show.” He has written for Newsweek. He was the runner-up in the 2021 Seattle International Comedy Competition and won the Comedy on Trial Competition in 2017. Standing Womb Only
Thursday, October 17 // Door at 7 PM // Show at 7:30 PM // $20 General Admission // 18+ Recommended Join Teresa Waldorf and six of her funny fabulous female friends for an evening of stand-up comedy, sketch comedy, zany games, song and dance as they present STANDING WOMB ONLY, Thursday, October 17th at 7:30 pm at the ZACC. Teresa has been producing and doing stand-up comedy since she turned fifty and needed to kick-start her chakra. She finds nearly everything funny and irritates a lot of people as a result. As always, The Show Room at the ZACC features a no-host in-venue bar, with beer, wine, cider, spiked selzer, and non-alcoholic options. Joining her will be: Rosie Seitz Ayers! Rosie has been playing the extra women in Teresa’s one-woman-show for the last 15+ years but that does not mean that Teresa is over 65. She also brightens lives every day by teaching theatre to kids and by teaching Teresa how to put contacts in her phone. Salina Chatlain! Salina did not send in a bio, so Teresa is writing it. Salina is an indoor cat, a macrame puppeteer, collects My Little Ponies, and a has a savant-like memory for everything in her Elizabeth Montgomery Wannabe life. Anne-Marie Williams! Anne-Marie is considered funny-weird, not funny-haha by her daughters but that doesn’t stop her from being in these wing-nut shows. She has been known to dress in a scantily-clad manner on stage and looks great in hats. Ann Szalda-Petree! Ann thought about running for office but decided comedy was a better fit. She enjoys jokes, puns, toilet humor and swearing but is not a fan of tripping or accidently running thru screen doors. Amanda Taylor! After whispering poorly-timed and wildly inappropriate jokes to her friends for what seemed like a lifetime, Amanda stared sharing them on stage at age 37 (her jokes, not her friends). She is now guilty of testing out jokes on unsuspecting Missoulians any chance she gets. Lois Mandelko-Steinberg! Lois spent many years working in end-of-life care. How the hell she translates that into comedy is anyone’s guess. For further information, accessibility, and inquiries please visit https://www.zootownarts.org/meet-the-zacc/about/.
