Blessiddoom w/ Ceres & The New Nightmare
Friday, October 18 // Door at 7:30 PM // Show at 8 PM // $10 Advance // $15 Day of Show Blessiddoom began in the fall of 2005 on a mission to shine a light on social norms that often label people, places, and things as being unwanted or ugly in some way but hold their own inner beauty. Showcasing an oxymoron even in the name, that our doom would indeed be blessid. Having come from modest means Blessiddoom aims to be a voice for the shunned, the societal outcasts or the metal head that was always told they would grow out of it. With lyrics that can be seen as quite serious, Blessiddoom does not take themselves too seriously, ultimately just wanting to have the best parties we can while we are still here. “We don’t have a lot of time on this earth, we weren’t meant to spend it this way.” Ceres is a 5-piece metal band, based out of Missoula. Nox Novacula: Feed the Fire Tour w/ Fuuls & DJ Gingerbat
Tuesday, August 27 // Door at 7:30 PM // Show at 8 PM // $12 Advance // $15 DOS In some twisted alternate reality, Bauhaus’ macabre, psychedelic take on post-punk languished in obscurity, never reaching the legions of disaffected teens that were desperately waiting for something like that to come along. Luckily, in this timeline, “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” kickstarted a gothic revolution whose echoes are still resonating today. Enter Seattle deathrock stalwarts Nox Novacula. Formed in 2017, Nox Novacula delivers a no frills, traditionalist take on deathrock that distills the form’s strongest elements into a potent and timeless formula. Their most recent effort, 2021’s Ascension, could easily be mistaken for a long-lost companion piece to Christian Death’s magnum opus, Only Theatre of Pain. Ice cold, reverberating guitars, tastefully theatrical vocals, a precise, energetic rhythm section, and occasional injections of atmospheric synth evoke the best components of goth rock’s most compelling progenitors. From the triumphant apocalypse anthems of Sisters of Mercy to the chorus-drenched post-hardcore goth of Burning Image, Nox Novacula assembles its influences into a recognizable but fresh sound that both pays homage to the genre’s roots and strives to grow beyond them. Whether you rushed out to buy black lipstick after seeing Return of the Living Dead in 1985 or you’re a relatively new convert ensnared by goth’s recent, long overdue resurgence, Nox Novacula’s masterfully crafted brand of urgent deathrock will satisfy. Fuuls (or fools) is a raucous decolonial post-whatever punk ensemble based out of the PNW. The collective is led by trans indigenous front woman, Nataanii Cornelius, known for her piss-and-vinegar onstage fervor. As a revolving door outfit of friends and family, the band gives pocket tight chaos in a wildly electric live experience. Gnat Hatcher (OR) + Pay No Mind + Poverty Porn
Sunday, June 30 // Door at 7 PM // Show at 7:30 PM // $10 GA // $15-$20 Artist Supporter Formed in Portland in 2022, Gnat Hatcher is Jamie Brito, Chance St George, and Gray Hunter. After releasing the single Obliterate/Woozy, the trio began work on their upcoming album, today is close (due out June 2024). Their blend of noise rock and post-hardcore is unapologetic in intensity. The music takes notes from the standard bearers of the past – Unwound, Shellac, and Slint, while delivering a contemporary sound that is uniquely their own. Poverty Porn was born in 2016, after bass player Anthony and guitarist Kye’s previous incarnation, Deadbeats, was ruthlessly made fun of for being the same name as local Grateful Dead rap cover artists in the Chicago area while on tour. With the new name came a newer sound, faster and more aggressive than Deadbeats, with lyrical changes shifting from personal experiences with addiction to the general fed-up-ness with the world around them. The band has only gotten tighter and more sonically punishing with age, although most recordings were bootleg, practice space quality. This finally changed in 2022 when Nataanii (of Fuuls) professionally put together the latest EP, “Upper-middle-class-softcore”, finally matching up the bands attitude on stage and in recorded media. Upper Middle Class Softcore was released on Jan 6th, 2023, and can be found on all streaming services. Poverty Porn is a BIPOC centered band, Kye belonging to the Meskwaki First Nation (Iowa), Anthony being Puerto Rican, and a drummer or two in the rotating cast of drummers also being of color. Pay No Mind is a skate punk band with hardcore and thrash influences consisting of former members of Stoned to Death and Super Sport (Great Falls). They have taken Missoula by storm opening for touring bands and supporting the local music scene. Two of their members are students at the U of M and have played shows on campus and supported headliner acts throughout town. For further information, accessibility, and inquiries please visit https://www.zootownarts.org/meet-the-zacc/about/.

“We don’t have a lot of time on this earth, we weren’t meant to spend it this way.” At Home in Hell blazes a trail through the metal scene with their explosive sound, fusing elements of thrash, groove, and hardcore into a relentless sonic assault. Hailing from Great Falls, their music embodies raw intensity and unapologetic authenticity, carving out a niche as a powerhouse in the metal underground. Based out of Missoula, Elephant Graveyard formed as a band in 2020. Blacktracks (Spokane) + Spooky (Spokane) + Infinite Ammo

Monday, April 22 // Door at 7 PM // Show at 7:30 PM // $10 // $15-$20 Artist Supporter Blacktracks is a two-piece experimental punk group from the Pacific/Inland Northwest. Having toured the Cascade region extensively the band has roots to call home in both Spokane Washington and Eugene Oregon. It’s a difficult project to pigeonhole into one genre having a tangible range from hardcore, crust, sludge to horrorcore, hip-hop & spoken word. It’s an amalgamation of tension presented in an engaging, viscerally determined, often self-violent live show that’s difficult to look away from. The band has found their home in the broader DIY circuit and is scheduled to release their debut full length via Blackhouse Records in 2024. Spooky is not a band; a body. Infinite Ammo banded together at the beginning of Covid and started a band that would soon be known for their weird sound that collides powerviolence/grindcore/death metal/hardcore punk into one giant mass of sound. Featuring members of The Foilies, Lust Hag, and Frontside Crime. Cameron came up with the idea for the band with Keith Szardarski who previously played guitar in the band. They added Moses on drums and Elli on Bass, with Dizzy taking over guitar duties in summer of ‘22. All tickets are general admission. Academy Order (Philly) + The Old Ones (Billings) + Swamp Ritual

Sunday, April 21 // Door at 7 PM // Show at 7:30 PM // $10 // $15-$20 Artist Supporter Since 2021, Academy Order have been honing their sound through various releases and live incarnations, expertly showcasing elements of death rock, punk, new wave, and even hardcore in a sonic amalgamation that is uniquely their own, while remaining just familiar enough to keep heads nodding. Now they surge forth with a debut LP, unleashing “A New Kind of Fear” to solidify an approach that touches nerves both lyrically and musically via counterpoints of aggression and melody not so commonly coupled in the broad genre of post-punk. The deliciously cold attack of driving guitars and Matthew’s demanding vocals weighed against synth lines straight from the 80’s dance floor and Norelle’s angelic vocal hooks bring the shadowy rhythm of the whole album to halting depths and infectious heights. Fans of seminal acts such as 45 Grave, Clan of Xymox, and TSOL may find themselves moving just as readily as those who enjoy Danse Society, Bleached Cross, and Chain Cult. Swamp Ritual is drum and bass stoner / doom metal, formed in 2010 in the Missoula mountains. With Dustin Fugere on bass and vocals, and Sid LaTray on drums and vocals. The Old Ones are good ol’ fashion Doom/Stoner from the Low Life Big Sky State. All tickets are general admission.
