Barbara w/ Arrowleaf & Wildlands
Sunday, June 18 // Door at 7 PM // Show at 7:30 PM // $10 // $15 Artist Supporter Ticket Barbara is a band from Denver, CO, composed of established musicians Bridget Hartman, Anna Panella, and Camilla Vaitaitis. After meeting in mutual pursuit of certificates denoting that they Know About Music, the three moved in together. In a new creative sandbox void of stamped papers and prerequisites, they excavated a fresh, intuitive approach to composition. The infinite jam session that is implicit to cohabitation formed an uncanny scaffold for the natural sound of Barbara— psychedelic, liminal, and vibrant. Barbara has a sound that’s been lived in. Stay for a while, come dance in the kitchen. You can be our fourth-dimensional roommate. Arrowleaf is an indie rock band from Missoula. Arrowleaf pairs washy guitar work, humming bass, and the occasional riotous trumpet with delicate anecdotes; dreamy conversations are carried by wistful harmonies. Arrowleaf’s 2021 album Getting By tacitly and pleasantly reconciles the unfolding of shared events with specific stories and feelings. Featuring the songwriting of Sarah Marker, the band is filled out by the thoughtful work of Brady Schwertfeger, Jake Whitecar, Peter Puczkowskyj, Amanda Ceaser, and Jon Filkins. Wildlands is an aspiring three piece Indie Pop band based out of Missoula. The band’s goal is to create and perform electrifying pop music for all to enjoy. Yegarma + The Love Darts + JAAG
Wednesday, June 14 // Door at 7 PM // Show at 7:30 PM // $10 // $15 Artist Supporter Ticket Yegarma (rhymes with “egg-harm-uh”) has evolved over the years from Alex Soveroski’s one-person experimental songwriting project into whatever it is now. There are 4 people playing rock n’ roll instruments, so let’s call them a rock band. They have a new album coming out in Summer 2023. Love Darts is high energy, low intelligence rock and roll from Bozeman, Montana. JAAG is a new band drawing from post-punk and 90s rock to craft a dark and driving sonic journey. The project was initiated by Hank Donovan on guitar (Magpies, Rattlesnake Cable Company) and recent homecomer Jamie Aaron Aux on vocals and guitar (Le Butcherettes, XVIII Eyes), acquaintances with long mutual respect in the Northwest music sphere, both agreeing to test the waters after each taking breaks from band life. With a handful of demos written, the two brought in John Sporman on bass (Wylie & the Wild West, Jupiter Beat, Shahs) and Christopher Baumann on drums (Mass FM, Victory Smokes, Dead Hipster) to kick the rock into high gear. Christopher and Jamie share a long musical history as former bandmates in the early-2000’s Jay’s Upstairs-era emo band, The Pleasure. The group has not yet recorded any material but probably will soon because that’s what bands do. Joyce from the Future + (latent) + R’Know
Sunday, June 11 // Door at 7 PM // Show at 7:30 PM // $10 // $15 Artist Supporter Ticket Hailing from the high plains of eastern Montana, Joyce from the Future delivers an eclectic blend of synth pop, funk, and r&b. Their second EP, Illusions, is available now on all streaming platforms. “It’s easy to appreciate a group like Joyce From the Future for a lot of reasons – but what stands out is their ability to jam-pack such an assortment of sounds into such a neat little package. No instrument sounds the same track to track and no mood feels duplicated. Rather, they find enough sonic space to fit contrasting tones and shifts in atmosphere while staying confidently buoyant.” – Jordan Finn (Waste Division) (latent) is a Missoula-based band composed of Zack Buchholz, Nick Togliatti, and Jake Swank. These three fellers have been playing music together for nearly a decade, and this band is a culmination of their endeavors to incorporate absurdity, sincerity, and high energy music into a single intense project. R’Know has been writing and performing hip hop music since 2010. Taking inspiration from artists such as J. Cole, Tech N9ne, Eminem, and many more, he prides himself on making songs packed with clever wordplay, diverse flows, and catchy hooks. If you’re looking for snappy, crisp delivery and a dynamic stage presence, you found your guy! Alien Boy & GLARE
Thursday, July 6 // Door at 8 PM // Show at 8:30 PM // $15 Advance // $20 DOS Dreams and Queer Feeling. A slogan, a mission statement; maybe a bit of “don’t say we didn’t warn you”—spray-painted in white on black canvas and hung behind the band during a memorable series of 2018 shows, those four words distill the thrill of an Alien Boy set with a directness that perfectly mirrors their fearlessly sentimental guitar music. Though Sonia Weber is often singing about the insecurities and confusion of love and heartbreak, Alien Boy songs overflow with the confidence of a band that knows exactly what they’re going for, and more importantly, know that they’re nailing it. Alien Boy is guitarist and songwriter Sonia Weber, drummer Derek McNeil, and a rotating cast of Portland, Oregon scene stalwarts. As her band’s Wipers-inspired name might imply, Weber is a PDX lifer, and anyone who’s spent time in the last decade’s DIY circuit will recognize something undeniably West Coast in Alien Boy’s sound: a sharpened, focused take on the heavy guitar pop of the 1980’s, chorus pedals and punishing drums the canvas for bold strokes of recollection and yearning. (Nathan Tucker) GLARE is “Texas Shoegaze”. For further information, accessibility, and inquiries please visit https://www.zootownarts.org/meet-the-zacc/about/.

Mudhoney
w/ Special Guest HooveriiiSaturday, October 14 // Door at 7 PM // Show at 8 PM // $25 Advance // $30 DOS The world is filling up with trash. Humanity remains addicted to pollution despite the planet getting hotter by the minute. People are downing horse dewormer because some goober on television told them it cured COVID. Tom Herman of pioneering avant garage band Pere Ubu still doesn’t have his own Wikipedia article. The apocalypse, it seems, is stupider than anyone could’ve predicted. Fortunately, the absurdities of modern life have always been prime subject matter for Seattle-based band Mudhoney. The foursome take aim at all of them with barbed humor and muck-encrusted riffs on Plastic Eternity, their 11th studio album. Mudhoney (vocalist Mark Arm, guitarist Steve Turner, bassist Guy Maddison, and drummer Dan Peters) remain the ur underground group, their gnarly primordial punk stew and Arm’s sharply funny lyrics as potent a combination as they’ve been since the band’s formation in the late 1980s. From taking on climate change from the perspective of the climate if the climate tried to play guitar like Jimi Hendrix (“Cry Me An Atmospheric River”) to a driving rock and roll song about taking drugs meant for livestock (“Here Comes the Flood”) to a classic punk attack on treating humans like livestock (“Human Stock Capital”), Plastic Eternity is a heady run through all the proto-genres of guitar rock with a keen eye on the inanities of the world in the 2020’s. The Foilies w/ Night Witch & DAMNTHEBADLUCK
Saturday, January 21 // Door at 7 PM // Show at 7:30 PM // $10 // $15 Artist Supporter Formed by the heaviest hitters in Montana, The Foilies are determined to spearhead the New Wave Of American Rock And Roll, delivering pure, uncut speed rock. DAMNTHEBADLUCK is a hardcore/post-punk band from Missoula, MT composed of Luke Harmon (vocals), Cody Sumner (guitar), Mars Sandavol (bass), and Chris Ostheimer (drums). **CANCELED** Rob Travolta + Panic Boner + Scuba Steve & the Sharks
This performance has been canceled due to unexpected flooding and lack of running water at the ZACC. Thursday, January 12 // Doors at 7 PM // Show at 7:30 PM // $10 // $15 Artist Supporter Ticket Rob Travolta is the ideal soundtrack for road trips through space and time. Drummer / beat producer Cole Bronson creates dynamic shifts within bassist Rob Cave’s bass lines. Fresh from releasing their new record “Landscapes and Soundscapes” Rob Travolta’s aim is to create thought provoking / heart-felt compositions that keep you on your toes. Panic Boner is Missoula’s premier kamikaze cowboy noise project founded by Dusty Shriver. Influences include racketcore and hard glamgaze. Past collaborators who perform live with Panic Boner include members of PowerPlant, Thee Noise Complaints, and Supersport. Panic Boner’s current line-up is a self-induced improvisational duo – with local painter and main SQUISH head honcho Tricia Opstad who currently performs with stompgrind and yelps – and Dusty, who explores drums, percussion under the influence of psycho magic. They have virtually no entertainment value and are here for anyone who loves the vibe in vibe out experience. Scuba Steve & the Sharks rode a tidal sound wave over the prairie all the way from Billings just to fill your ears with joy.
